Trust properties: Turnastone Court Farm
Turnastone Court Farm in Herefordshire's Golden Valley was purchased by the CRT in order to save ancient meadows from the plough and also to secure the future of the farm.
The farmland extends to 247 acres with the majority of this being permanent pasture. Bordering the River Dore, some of the fields form a unique area of water meadows which have remained unploughed for 400 years. These species rich meadows include 'Trench Royal'
- part of a three-mile long irrigation channel completed during the 17th Century - an integral part of Herefordshire's Agricultural heritage.
