Trust properties: Awnells Farm

Anwells FarmThis 220 acre grassland farm has an abundance of wildlife habitat and is situated amongst some of Herefordshire's most beautiful countryside.

The farm has a closed herd of traditional Hereford cattle with an ancestry that dates back over 170 years. A wonderful orchard includes many old cider apple trees, some of which are 300 years old, making this an especially important farm.

History:The farmland and farm buildings, which include the cattle yards at Street and Redlands farms, were made over to the Trust by a Deed of Gift from David Powell in 2000.
Farm Description:The grassland farm includes 14 acres of arable land, used mainly for feed cropping and 15 acres of orchard.
Tenant Farmers:David Powell continues to run the farm.
